Amid Oxygen shortage across India, Khalsa Aid comes up with free Oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients

NEW DELHI, India—Amid falling Oxygen supply across the Indian sub-continent, renowned charitable organization Khalsa Aid has started providing Oxygen concentrator devices to the Covid-19 patients free of cost. Initially, these oxygen concentrator devices are being offered inside India’s national capital Delhi only as it is the worst affected area in India.

It is pertinent to note here that a sudden surge in Covid-19 cases is being witnessed across the Indian sub-continent due to which the oxygen supply is falling short.

“In this unprecedented state of a medical emergency, Khalsa Aid India has fortunately managed to arrange limited Oxygen concentrators for COVID-19 patients. This project will be initiated from Delhi as it is the worst affected city. Together, we will fight this situation. Your support will make this possible,” wrote Khalsa Aid India while sharing the update via Facebook.

How Does an Oxygen Concentrator Work?

Oxygen concentrators are medical devices that assist people who have a low level of oxygen in their blood. They are powered by plugging the device into an electrical outlet or by using a battery. If a battery is used, then it will need to be charged by plugging it into an electrical outlet. Most concentrators also come with an adapter so you can use the device while you drive.

An oxygen concentrator receives air, purifies it, and then distributes the newly formed air. Before it goes into the concentrator, the air is made up of 80 percent nitrogen and 20 percent oxygen. An oxygen concentrator uses that air then it comes out as 90 to 95 percent pure oxygen and 5 to 10 percent nitrogen. The nitrogen is separated to give the patient the highest dose of oxygen possible, as it is difficult to get that percentage of oxygen without the help of a medical device.

  2. My father in law has problem to breeth from last night ,His oxygen label is 85,After so many efforts we fail to manage oxygen plz if you can provide oxygen with cylinder,
