NEW DELHI—Even though the farmer unions had earlier declared they would go ahead with the tractor rally regardless of the circumstances, the Delhi police today announced that it will not block the march. The route was earlier announced by farmer union Balbir Singh Rajewal; however, the official march route will be confirmed shortly by the farm union leaders.

Delhi Police has said that it has not received any official route map from the farmers so far. So far, five different routes have been announced, but the official route is yet to be confirmed by farmer union leaders. But it has been confirmed that the march will now be officially carried out within Delhi, on the outer ring road. The total length of the march will be 100 kms.

Gurnam Singh Chaduni once again reiterated that farmers have been peaceful since day 1 and they will continue this march peacefully. He said that over 100,000 of tractors are arriving over the next few days to join the parade.

Traffic is jammed up in a number of places en-route to Delhi as farmers are arriving at different borders to take part in the march being carried.

“This is going to be a unique march, something India has never seen before,” Balbir Singh Rajewal said.

Barricades will be officially removed by the Delhi Police, and volunteers of the farmer unions will manage the arrangements.

  1. Having looked at the gigantic nature of this Tractor Rally in terms of its quantitative strength and extensively long route of 100 km, this rally deserves to be covered and recorded by Limca Book of Records and Guinness Book of World Records. Not sure as to whether this thought has ever struck organizing Farmers’ Leaders of this globally historical protest.
