NEW DELHI, India—Taking up the 1984 Sikh genocide culprit Sajjan Kumar’s bail plea, the Supreme Court of India today directed AIIMS board of doctors to examine Sajjan Kumar’s health tomorrow. It is learnt that Sajjan Kumar will be taken to AIIMS at 10:30 am tomorrow i.e. on March 5.
The AIIMS doctors have been asked to submit the report within a week and immediately hospitalize Sajjan Kumar if they consider it appropriate.
“Whether or not the convict needs to be institutionalized will be decided once the report of the Board by the AIIMS doctor comes in,” said the SC bench headed by Chief Justice SA Bobde.
It is noteworthy here that Sajjan Kumar has been in Tihar jail since December 31, 2018 after being awarded life imprisonment by the Delhi High Court.
