Two year old toddler falls into 70 feet deep borewell in Tamil Nadu

CHENNAI, Tamil Nadu—A two year toddler named Sujith fell down in a borewell in Nadukattupatti of Tiruchirappalli district (Tamli Nadu) during the evening hours of October 25. It is learnt that the toddler firstly got stuck at 30 feet, but later again fell down further 40 feet. Currently, he is stuck at 70 feet below in the earth.

Although the administration immediately launched a rescue operation to save the victim toddler, but still no noticeable development in the direction of rescuing boy has been noticed yet.

Speaking to media, Health Minister Vijayabaskar the rescue team has injected oxygen into the borewell. He claimed that the toddler is alive and his voice of crying has been listened. “Initially, a parallel bore was being dug to reach out to the child, but this work couldn’t be pursued due to hard rock layering below,” he added.

“Expert teams have come from neighboring districts to help in the rescue operation. He also said that the child’s breathing could be heard from a micro camera that was sent 60 feet deep to monitor the situation,” he said.

It is learnt that the rescue team also tried to use borewell robot, but it also didn’t work.
