550th Birthday Celebrations: Brampton City Council to name a street after Guru Nanak Sahib

TORONTO, Ontario, Canada—The 550th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji is not being celebrated in Punjab only but in all corners of the world. The Brampton city council in Canada has unanimously decided to rename a street on the name of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji.

A regional councilor Gurpreet Singh Dhillon and city councilor Harkirat Singh had presented this resolution for renaming the street situated in a suburb of Brampton. A section of Peter Robertson Boulevard in between Dixie Road and Great Lakes will be renamed on Guru Nanak Sahib’s name.

In official documents, the name of this road will be registered as “Guru Nanak Street” or “Guru Nanak Road”.  

Gurpreet Singh informed that many people of Sikh religion have been living in Brampton. He added that Canada is a multi-cultural country and people belonging to different religions, races and castes live here with unity and harmony.

Mr. Dhillon further told that after the approval of District level committee for renaming the name of road, further action will be initiated.
