Modi to inaugurate Indian side of Kartarpur corridor terminal on November 8

NEW DELHI, India—Bibi Harsimrat Kaur Badal, the Union Cabinet Minister of Food Processing in the Government of India, has today disclosed that the Indian PM Narendra Modi will inaugurate the Indian side of Kartarpur corridor terminal on November 8. Notably, the 550th birthday of Sri Guru Nanak Dev Ji will be celebrated on November 12 this year and the Kartarpur corridor will be opened on this occasion to facilitate visa-free access to Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib.

“With the blessings of Guru Nanak Dev ji, Sikh Panth’s ardaas for ‘khule darshan deedar’ (free access) of Sri Kartarpur Sahib to finally become reality! On November 8th, history will be created with PM Narendra Modi ji inaugurating the Kartarpur Corridor,” Harsimrat Kaur Badal tweeted today.

It is pertinent to note here that the Pakistan government is yet to decide the inauguration date of Kartarpur corridor.

On October 10, the spokesperson of Pakistan’s foreign ministry Mr. Mohammad Faisal had said that he was not sure about the inauguration date of Kartarpur corridor as no date has been fixed yet. However, he maintained that the entire corridor work will be furnished by time.

Pakistan is constructing the corridor from the Indian border to the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur. India is building the corridor from Dera Baba Nanak in Punjab’s Gurdaspur district up to the border.

Both the countries have agreed that Pakistan will allow 5,000 Sikh visitors per day into the country through the corridor.

  1. PM Modi and other ministers may benefit from learning about Guru Nanak his teachings, and history. Message of equality, oneness, Sakhi of Bhai Lalo milk roti and Malik bhagos blood roti from blood of the poor. There is only a point to presenting partaking in Guru Nanak celebrations if we each take something from the teachings and put into practical life. The poorer of India need a break, they are struggling too much, rich are exploiting endlessly. Time to make a change. Happy Gurpurab 550th.
