1984 Sikh Genocide: Sirsa meets SIT chief seeking deposition of two more witnesses against Kamal Nath

NEW DELHI, India—The DSGMC president Manjinder Singh Sirsa today met Mr. Anurag, the head of Special Investigation Team (SIT) probing Sikh genocide cases, seeking reopening of the Sikh genocide case against the Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath. Sirsa asked the SIT chief to record versions of two more witnesses against Kamal Nath in a case pertaining to burning alive two Sikhs by a Hindu mob.

“We met the Chairman of SIT constituted for Sikh Genocide cases, Sh. Anurag Ji to register deposition of 2 of our witnesses. We have requested him to reopen the case against Kamal Nath. He was one of the main culprits and crime partner of Sajjan Kumar who instigated the mob to burn two Sikhs alive outside Gurdwara Rakab Ganj Sahib. His name was not put in FIR despite strong evidence against him. Now is the time to make him Jail Partner of Sajjan Kumar and Anurag Ji has assured us that they are reopening the case & the primary focus of probe will be the role of Kamal Nath,” wrote Manjinder Singh Sirsa from his Facebook wall.

It is pertinent to note here that Kamal Nath is accused of inciting a mob outside Gurdwara Rakabganj Sahib on November 1, 1984, where two Sikhs were burnt alive. An FIR number 601/84 was registered in the Parliament Street Police Station on November 1, 1984 against the five accused, but Kamal Nath was deliberately excluded from this case.
