Protest march taken out in Kashmir against brutal thrashing of Sikh driver by Delhi police cops

SRINAGAR, J&K—On June 20, the Sikhs residing in Kashmir taken out a protest march in Srinagar against the brutal thrashing of Sikh driver Sarabjit Singh and his son Balwant Singh by the Delhi police cops.

Starting from the Gurdwara Singh Sabha situated in Amira Kadal area, the protest march concluded at Press enclave where the protesters interacted with the media. It is learnt that more than a dozen Sikhs participated in this march.

Demanding an immediate indictment of all the guilty police cops, the protesters said that a law should be framed to protect the religious identity of Sikhs.  

The protesters affiliated with ‘Gurmut Taksal’ were carrying placards with messages like ‘make some laws to protect the religious symbols’ and ‘Turban: it is an identity, a promise and an honor’.
