:dateline:A Punjab government�s delegation headed by cabinet minister Sukhjinder Singh Randhawa today met the Meghalaya�s state minister for home affairs Mr. James K Sangma to apprise of the Sikh concern over the Punjabi lane area dispute. During this meeting, Mr. James K Sangma assured safety of Sikhs living in the Punjabi lane area.
On being asked by the delegation, Mr. James K Sangma also spoke to the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh over phone. He told Captain that the security in the Punjabi lane area has been beefed up and the Meghalaya government was making efforts to sort out the issue at the earliest.
When Captain raked up the issue of recent threats given by a banned militant organization of Meghalaya to the Sikhs living the Punjabi lane area, Mr. James K Sangma dismissed the threats by terming the same as �non-serious�.
