Fierce Fire Engulfs 57 Shops near Takht Sri Keshgarh Sahib in Sri Anandpur Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Around 57 shops near Gurdwara Sri Kesgarh Sahib (Sri Anandpur Sahib)  got gutted in a fierce fire broke out during wee hours today. Although, the owners of these shops lost their life earnings in this fire originated from short-circuit in an electricity grid but fortunately no loss of life occurred in this incident.

Available information reveals that the fire turned fierce when a gas cylinder caught fire and a big blast occurred which turned the situation out of control.

The Fire flames were very big due to which all shops were burnt to ashes.

People informed the fire brigade, but the shops were converted to ashes when the fire brigade arrived.

Meanwhile, it has come to fore that eight vehicles, including two trucks, were also completely damaged.

The majority of the affected shops used to sell religious articles, toys, shoes and eatables and were set up temporarily using the tarpaulin and other plastic material. The land was auctioned for these shops by the Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee.
