Shiv Sena Activist Gets Slapped for Provoking Sikh Sentiments in Jalandhar

JALANDHAR, Punjab—Every year on the eve of 1984 holocaust’s anniversary, the pro-Hindutva radical Hindu bodies like Shiv Sena make attempts to provoke the Sikhs with their poisonous statements and intolerable activities but every time they face severe embarrassment.

Among several such incidents occurred this year during the past few days, an incident of slapping of Shiv Sena leader by a Sikh in Jalandhar once again brought embarrassment for the radical Hindu body on June 6.

The incident occurred when the Shiv Sena leaders including Rohit Joshi paid homage to former PM Indira Gandhi, General Vaidya and former CM Beant Singh and burnt the ‘Referendum 2020’ posters in an attempt provoke Sikh sentiments.

As soon as the Jalandhar based Sikhs came across of this incident, several of them, including Harpal Chadha and Tajinder Pardesi, reached the office of Rohit Joshi. As the arguments between the duo sides begin, a Sikh fiercely slapped one of those radical Hindu elements.

However, the police cops from division number 2 of Jalandhar immediately arrived there and managed to control the situation.
