CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Finally, the SAD (Amritsar) president Simranjit Singh Mann has indirectly admitted that the lifting of Bargari Morcha by the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedars proved fatal for him. He has said that there was a widespread anger among the Sikh community about the lifting of Bargari Morcha which has ultimately put an adverse impact on his election result.
Simranjit Singh Mann was contesting from the Sangrur parliamentary seat where he could secure only 48365 votes (4.37 %) despite massive campaigns and hard work of the party activists in Sangrur parliamentary seat for about two months.
It is pertinent to note here that the Sarbat Khalsa appointed acting Akal Takht Jathedar Dhian Singh Mand had lifted the Bargari Morcha under mysterious circumstances in December last year.
Recently, a statement by the Congress legislator on Bargari Morcha has once again brought the Sarbat Khalsa appointed Jathedars under fire.
