:dateline:The Pakistan government has announced to release Rupees 540 million to the Federal Investigation Agency for facilitating immigration services to the Sikh pilgrims at Kartarpur corridor terminal. It is learnt that these funds will be released to the FIA before November-2019.
In a notification no. 2/23/2018 MMC, the Home Ministry of Pakistan has passed this information to the secretaries of the Foreign Ministry of Pakistan, the Foundation Department and the Finance Ministry.���� �
It is pertinent to note here that the Federal Investigation Agency had demanded Rupees 610 million for the equipment required for making the Immigration terminal operational but the Pakistan government has sanctioned Rupees 540 million.
Similarly, the FIA had demanded 284 new employees for immigration services, but the Pakistan government has approved 217 employees.
On the other hand, the Frontier Works Organization of Pakistan has chalked out a plan to acquire 622 acres of land for Kartarpur corridor project. 408 acres of land will be used in the Gurdwara complex while the rest 214 acres of land will be used in constructing roads, parking and border terminal.
The FWO has already acquired a lot of land from the neighboring villages under “Development of Kartarpur Corridor” project.
Besides this land, 871 acres of more land is required for other projects likely to come up in future.
Meanwhile, it is learnt that the technical experts will meet at the zero point of Indo-Pak border on May 27 to deliberate upon the technical aspects of Kartarpur corridor. Earlier, these technical experts had met several times, but still the duo sides dissent over several technical aspects of this corridor.��
