Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia Likely to Face Legal Action for Speaking Against Justice Ranjit Singh Commission

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—After checking the recordings of Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia’s utterances against the Justice Ranjit Singh Commission, the Punjab & Haryana High Court on February 13 ordered to pursue the investigation in the case. Now, the Court wants to confirm whether these utterances were made during the same time when the Commission of Inquiry was working.

During the case proceedings on February 13, the prosecution lawyer APS Deol told the Court that Justice Ranjit Singh had even sent legal notices to the channels which aired the statements of Sukhbir Badal and Bikram Majithia against the Commission of Inquiry.

Justice Amit Rawal said that the Court will also examine the notification issued by the Punjab government regarding appointment of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission for probing the sacrilege cases. “Statements of the duo leaders will also be testified” the Court said.

Meanwhile, it is learnt that the next hearing on the case has been deferred onto February 20.
