Amritsar Bomb Blast: Sikh Youth Bikramjit Singh Sent to Police Remand for Five Days

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Dhariwal resident 26 years old Sikh youth Bikramjit Singh alias Bikram, who has been accused of being involved in hurling a grenade on Nirankari cult’s outlet in village Adliwal (Rajasansi), was produced before the sessions court of Ajnala on November 22. After hearing the arguments of police, the Court sent Bikramjit Singh to police remand for five days.

It is learnt that the police had sought his 14-day custody for interrogating him about the whereabouts of Avtar Singh and other accomplices of the terror module, besides the recovery of weapons, if any.

Meanwhile, the mainstream media outlets have reported that Bikramjit confessed to his crime before the media during his court appearance on November 22.

“On November 4, Avtar brought a hand grenade and a pistol from Majitha and on November 13, we conducted a survey of the spot. We looked for a route to escape that did not have any CCTV camera. On Sunday, I went to Chak Mishri Khan Village on a bike. We removed the number plate of the motorcycle and then proceeded towards Adliwal. We covered our faces on the way,” says Bikram’s version quoted in The Tribune.
