Damdami Taksal Asks Khattar to Apologize for Disrespecting Sant Bhindranwale

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The SGPC president S. Gobind Singh Longowal has strongly criticized the Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar for making a pre-condition before the Sikh masses of village Dachar to remove the photo of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale from the Gurdwara Sahib. Taking on Khattar for hurting Sikh sentiments, he has said that the great Sikh of 20th century Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale is a great martyr of the Sikh community.

Notably, the Haryana CM Manohar Lal Khattar had cancelled his visit to Gurdwara Sahib of village Dachar on September 29 when the local Sikhs had refused to accept his condition of removing the photo of Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale from Gurdwara Sahib.

“Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale is a true saint-soldier for the Sikhs as he had sacrificed himself for the Sikh cause. The anger shown by the local Sikhs against this move was natural,” Longowal said.

Similarly, the Damdami Taksal chief Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma has also slammed Khattar on this issue. He has said that the Congress as well as BJP holds same approach towards the Sikhs.

Seeking an apology from Khattar, Baba Dhumma has said that Khattar has hurt Sikh sentiments by disrespecting a great martyr of the Sikh community as Sant Jarnail Singh Ji Khalsa Bhindranwale was conferred the title of the great Sikh of the 20th century by the supreme Sikh throne Sri Akal Takht Sahib.
