UN Secretary General António Guterres to Pay Obeisance at Sri Harmandir Sahib Tomorrow

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Mr. António Guterres, the Secretary General of the United Nations, will pay obeisance at the holiest Sikh shrine Sri Harmandir Sahib on October 3. He will be the first UN Chief to receive blessings of Sri Guru Ram Dass Ji by paying obeisance at sanctum sanctorum Sri Harmandir Sahib.

Sharing the development with media, the Deputy Commissioner of Amritsar Sahib S. Kamaldeep Singh Sangha informed that the Mr. António Guterres will be welcomed by the Union State Minister S. Hardeep Singh Puri and Punjab’s Finance Minister S. Manpreet Badal.

Sikh24 has learnt that the apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has also made robust arrangements to welcome the UN’s secretary general Mr. António Guterres.

Meanwhile, the Dal Khalsa’s president S. Harpal Singh Cheema has said that the Sikh issues were still pending before the United Nation. He added that he has written a letter to Mr. António Guterres seeking an international probe in Sikh genocide cases.
