Behbal Klan Tragedy: Four Police Officers Named in An FIR Registered Three Years Back

FARIDKOT—As per latest updates, the Faridkot police have inducted the names of four police officers in the FIR registered on October 21, 2015 against unknown police cops for opening an unprovoked firing on the peacefully protesting Sikhs at Behbal Klan. Notably, the Justice Ranjit Singh led Investigation Commission had recommended induction of the names of guilty police cops in the FIR.

Names of the four Police cops, who have been inducted in the FIR are as follow:

  1. PPS officer Charanjit Sharma (the then SSP of Moga Police District and now retired)
  2. PPS officer Bikramjit Singh (the then SP (Detective) of Fazilka)
  3. Senior Inspector Amarjit Singh
  4. Inspector Pardip Singh

Sikh24 has learnt that section 302 (murder), 307 (attempt to murder) and section 34 (common intention) of the Indian Penal Code have been imposed on these guilty police cops according to their roles in the Behbal Klan tragedy.

Meanwhile, sources have informed that the roles of Inspector Harpal Singh, the then SHO Ladowal, and constables Shamsher Singh, Harpreet Singh, Gurpreet Singh, and Parminder Singh are also being investigated.

It may be recalled here that two innocent Sikh youths had attained martyrdom in an unprovoked firing opened by the Punjab police on peaceful protesting Sikhs on October 14, 2015.
