NEW DELHI—Taking note of Arvind Kejriwal’s video that is going viral on social media, the Election Commission has warned the Aam Aadmi Party to strictly abide by the conditions of the poll code. In the video, Kejriwal is asking voters to take bribe by other political parties if offered, but vote for the Aam Aadmi Party.
Aam Aadmi Party has strict code against offering any type of bribe to voters, however in certain parts of the country, other political parties pay as much as Rs. 10,000 to 15,000 per vote, in addition to other items such as laptop computers, air conditioners, bicycles, liquor, drugs, etc. While AAP does not offer bribes, its leaders often tell their supports that if other political parties offer them anything, they should go ahead and accept, however, only vote as per their consciousness.
The EC has warned the Aam Aadmi Party for indirectly enticing voters of Goa. While AAP is not offering bribe itself, it is enticing the voters to accept it, which is against the code of the Election Commission.
Taking notice of Kejriwal’s video, the Election Commission has asked the Delhi Chief Minister and AAP National Convener to control his words otherwise action would be taken against the entire party, and it could face consequences and even lose its election permit.
Meanwhile in Punjab, Congress President Capt. Amarinder Singh has appealed to the Election Commissioner to cancel AAP’s registration as its volunteers and officials were causing “havoc” in the state. Amarinder appealed to the EC that AAP has flooded Punjab with outside volunteers who were harassing Punjabis.
To ensure fair elections, poll code should be enforced fully. AAP enticing Sikhs to commit criminal action is wrong, Sikhs also should not accepted the bribes. Sikhs must stop their rampant consumption of liquor drugs which is shame on whole of India. Sikhs please do not give bad image on India, violence and drugs please replace with love of bharat mata who give strength to all loyal Indians.
