Captain Amarinder Singh Attempts to Lure Dalit Voters in Punjab; Promises Strict Action Against Badals

FATEHGARH SAHIB, Punjab—During a series of Congress rallies in Malwa belt on earlier this week, Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee head Captain Amarinder Singh said in Bassi Pathana that the atrocities on Dalits (schedule castes) has increased since the Badal led Shiromani Akali Dal started ruling Punjab in 2007.

He said that the atrocities against Dalits had gone up manifold, increasing from 651 cases in 2007 to 12,834 by 2015.

Promising to bring Dalits back into the mainstream of the society with welfare schemes as promised in the party manifesto, Captain Amarinder said he would ensure that all those found guilty of any crime against them are given exemplary punishment.

Launching a vitriolic attack on Chief Minister Parkash Badal, Captain termed him as a wicked person and said that he will “thrash him” brutally in Lambi for the atrocities he had committed on the Dalits.

Captain Amarinder also lambasted the Badals for criminalizing Punjab all kinds of mafia, including transport, sand, liquor, etc.

Holding the Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) responsible for state-wide desecration incidents, Captain described the incidents as an attempt by the Akalis to polarize the Punjab society ahead of the polls. He further said that Badal was not a true believer of the Sikh religion since he was indulging in spreading communal disharmony.

  1. How can anyone take this pot belly pig seriously. His forefathers plotted with the British against the Sikhs to destroy the Sikh Empire. He has been in politics for decades and done nothing for the Sikhs or Punjabis. He is a close friend of the Ghandi family, invites and attends social functions with the butchers of SIkhs. If anyone needs a shoe in the face its this clown! Vote for the Sikh Panth, all these other political parties are opportunistic rabid dogs looking to throw you a leftover bone now and nothing after the election.
