Hemkunt Sahib Gates To Be Closed On October 15 Due to Winter

UTTRAKHAND, India—Observing fair weather conditions at Sri Hemkunt Sahib, the management trust of Sri Hemakunt Sahib announced to extend the closure date of the gates to October 15. Usually, the gates are closed every year on October 5. hemkunt-sahib-626_m

Speaking with Sikh24 over the phone on October 4, the Vice-President of Sri Hemkunt Sahib Management Trust, Narinderjeet Singh Bindra, informed us that the decision was made in view of the fair weather conditions. He added that there was no rain this year and the probability of snowfall also seems negligible in the upcoming days. “Ardas to culminate the pilgrimage of this year will be held on October 15,” said Bindra.

The Vice-President, Narinderjeet Singh Bindra, informed us that the Management Trust provides medical, food and accommodation services to all the devotees and arranges all the equipment to make the pilgrimage hassle-free.  “With the grace of the almighty Waheguru, the pilgrimage remained successful this year,” he added.

An average of 3,000 devotees are paying obeisance at Sri Hemkunt Sahib each day. More than 200,000 devotees have paid obeisance at the hilly Sikh shrine this year where the tenth Sikh master Guru Gobind Singh Ji worshipped the almighty Lord before taking birth on this earth.
