ROPAR, Punjab—Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal has denied ordering a CBI probe into the assassination attack on Sikh preacher, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala. The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is India’s investigative police agency that is involved in major criminal probes. Replying to a media query at the Sangat Darshan program at Nurpur Bedi, Badal said that the state police was competent enough to unleash the conspiracy behind the attack on Bhai Dhadrianwala.
During the early evening on May 17, Bhai Ranjit Singh Dhadrianwala was attacked by several followers of Baba Harnam Singh Dhumma near Ludhiana. While Dhadrianwale survived the attack, his close aide, Bhupinder Singh, was shot dead by the assailants.
Bhai Dhadrianwala’s supporters submitted memorandums (addressed to the President of India) to Deputy Commissioners of Ludhiana, Sangrur and Ropar on May 30 seeking CBI probe into the case.
Meanwhile, Head of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Captain Amarinder Singh has slammed the Chief Minister Parkash Badal for denying a CBI probe into the case of the murderous attack on Baba Dhadrianwala. Daring Badal to provide a CBI probe, he said that it was a depiction of failure for law and order in the state that the Police couldn’t expose the mastermind of the attack despite that two weeks have elapsed.
Get rid of those incompetent authorities who fail to respect law and order! How can this be done in Punjab/India?
