Pakistani Sikh Youth Tara Singh appointed Interim President of PSGPC

LAHORE, West Punjab, Pakistan—Tara Singh, a Sikh youth from Pakistan has been appointed interim of the Pakistani Shiromani Gurdwara Parbhandhak Committee.  The decision was taken by the executive members of the PSGPC in a meeting held after the demise of S. Sham Singh, former PSGPC president.

The meeting was held on April 1, in which it was resolved that due to S. Sham Singh’s sudden demise, Tara Singh would be appointed as the interim President.  S. Sham Singh passed away due to a brain hemorrhage on March 27. 

Tara Singh is the youngest among all the 10 members of the PSGPC and was elected as interim President unanimously.

It is notable that S. Sham Singh was elected as the first President of PSGPC at the time of its establishment in 1998 and had remained president since then.
