Those who are imbued with the wisdom of the Guru are purified and walk in harmony with the will of the Guru.- Guru Amar Das Sahib, Guru Granth Sahib, Page 233

Message: How can we become unsullied, cleansed, or pure-hearted? Simple: we need to free ourselves of the dirt that defiles us. This is the dirt of our vices; for example, our egoism or vengeance and many other animosities which we keep within our heart.

How shall we rid ourselves of this dirt then? With the help of Gurbani. By attuning ourselves to the way of Gurbani – the way of wisdom and virtue – we will be able to free our minds of our evils and conceit and walk the path of truth.

As we learn to walk in harmony with the wisdom of Gurbani and the Will of the Divine, we will experience more peace and serenity in life, for we will move on despite the difficulties and challenges. We will not blame our circumstances or people around us. Instead we will take responsibility of our actions in the present and seek to reform our actions and look for change within us.

Etymology: From Sanskrit nirmal (spotless, clean).
