STOCKTON, California, USA—In a gathering of major Gurdwaras across California, Sikh Sangat took several key decisions in relation to the sacrilege of Guru Granth Sahib in Punjab. Representatives of over 50 Gurdwaras and Panthik organizations attended the meeting that took place at Gurdwara Sahib in Stockton.
Daljit Singh Khalsa from Stockton Gurdwara Sahib said, “Today we have representatives of almost 54 Gurdwaras, we have decided upon several issues. We seek the Sangat to accept these decisions with the roars of Jakaras.”
Following are the decisions passed by the gathering today –
- Support for Sarbat Khalsa by sending representatives from California
- We refuse to accept the appointed Jathedars
- Complete boycott of Jathedars, SGPC, Akali Dal members and all anti-Sikh politicians
- Entire sangat shall stand in solidarity with the recent Sikhs martyred in Punjab
- Create a Worldwide organization to represent the diaspora
- Call for all Sikhs to use the social media to document the brutalities in Punjab
Stockton Gurdwara Sahib has played a key role in Sikh history. It was from this Gurdwaras that ‘Gadar’ (revolt) was planned against the British to free India.
We should go for it By sending our delegates and rest should vote online such a kind of action should be taken “Wahe guru Ji ka khalsa wahe guru Ji Ki fathe “
Sarbat Khalsa will not be possible given the Global Distribution of Sikhs.
It may however be technically be possible Online (given its intrinsic limitation) or by a Postal ballot for all the Sikhs in this world.
No it is certainly possible all Sikh factions and groups can send delegates to Amritsar to convene. We did it in 1986 can’t we do it now?
