ANANDPUR SAHIB, Punjab—Commenting on the cancellation of Modi’s visit to Sri Anandpur Sahib on its 350th foundation anniversary, president of Sikh Youth Federation Bhindranwala has stated that the PM has cancelled his visit to express disagreement with Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) for the transfer of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar. Dr. Gurjinder Singh said that Modi’s decision has exposed his anti-Sikh image and has again proved that BJP’s alliance with Shiromani Akali Dal(Badal) exists on the ground of depicting Sikhism as part of Hinduism.
Strongly condemning the Shiromani Akali Dal’s decision of inviting BJP leaders like Narendra Modi on the 350th foundation anniversary of Sri Anandpur Sahib, Dr. Gurjinder Singh suggested that they would have called some Sikh personalities on this historical occasion instead of Modi.
Exposing the double standards of BJP to dominate over Punjab, Dr. Gurjinder Singh said that its Punjab leadership visited Bhai Gurbakhsh Singh Khalsa in Lakhnaur Sahib to extend support to his struggle for the release of political Sikh prisoners at Gurdwara Lakhnaur Sahib. But as now the struggle of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa has compelled the Punjab Government to recommend Prof. Bhullar’s transfer to Punjab, the same BJP is expressing internal disagreement with Punjab Government.
