Papalpreet Singh has warmly welcomed the decision by Jathedar Pritam Singh Khalsa of resigning from Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) in support of the struggle initiated by Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa. He said that Jathedar Pritam Singh Khalsa has accepted the voice of his conscience and Sikh community warmly welcomes his decision.
The general Secretary of the body stated that the current preferences of Akali Dal (Badal) have tarnished its image within the Sikh masses. �”By ignoring the peaceful struggle of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa for the release of Sikh detainees, Akali Dal (Badal) has prepared ground for its taksali workers to get detached from it,” he added.
It can be revealed that Jathedar Pritam Singh Khalsa was General Secretary of Shiromani Akali Dal (Badal) of SC wing from Bathinda. His father Jathedar Labh Singh Tiona spent his lifetime in jails along with Badal during the agitations of Sheeshganj Sahib Morcha, Punjabi Suba Morcha and Dharam Yudh Morcha.
Jathedar Pritam Singh�has stated in his resignation that Parkash Badal doesn�t deserve the post of “Fakhar-e-Kaum”�bestowed upon�him by the appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takhat Sahib.
