More than 7000 Devotees Reach Sri Hemkunt Sahib on First Day of Its Opening

DEHRADUN, India—Gates of Gurdwara Sri Hemkunt Sahib opened today to facilitate glimpse of Gurdwara Sahib to the Sikh Sangat. Holy Scripture of Sri Guru Granth Sahib was brought to the Gurdwara Sahib by the Panj Piare and first Ardas was performed at 10:30 am.

More than 7000 devotees were estimated to have visited the holy shrine on first day of its opening.

Chief Granthi of Gurdwara Sahib Bhai Jassa Singh performed Ardas and recited Gurbani of Sri Sukhmani Sahib. Ragi Jatha of Bhai Pardeep Singh and Bhai Bhai Sukhwinder Singh delighted the sangat with divine kirtan.

Sikh Sangat in large numbers has started reaching Hemkunt Sahib on their personal vehicles in the form of Jathas. Snowfall and rain at Sri Hemkunt Sahib couldn’t slow down the spirit in Sikh sangat.

Management Committee of Sri Hemkunt Sahib has made commendable arrangements for the residence, langar and medical assistance from Rishikesh to Gobind Dham to control any untoward incidents on the way.  Roads to Sri Hemkunt Sahib have been made 8 feet wider by cutting snow. Beside of thousands of Sikh Sangat, President Madan Singh, Secretary Janak Singh and Cashier Manmohan Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
