NEW DELHI—In response to the statement by Manjit Singh GK seeking termination of the black list, Shiromani Akali Dal (Delhi) President Paramjit Sarna has said that the list was established with the help of Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Badal.  Sarna stated that Badal’s role was eminent in helping the Central government in extending this list by adding more names.

Taking credit of removing many names from the list, Sarna said that Akali Dal (Delhi) has worked hard to terminate this list and only few names were left behind. He allged that when the Central Government informed the Punjab Government, Badal halted the process by referring to the persons on the list as “dangerous terrorists”.

Sarna also condemned Badal for not seeking transfer of Prof. Davinderpal Singh Bhullar to Punjab.

He advised Manjit Singh GK to refrain from issuing baseless statements to Sikh diaspora.  “Instead, you should confirm from your senior leadership regarding their stand on such issues,” he added.

He said that the Punjab government doesn’t have any internal agreement in releasing Sikh political prisoners that is why it is continuously ignoring the hunger strike of Bapu Surat Singh Khalsa who has been observing hunger strike from 138 days seeking release of political Sikh prisoners.

Sarna is stanch rival of the Akali Dal (B).  He also has close ties with the Congress and the Rashtriya Sikh Sangat.
