Fanatics Establish Hanuman Statue After Vandalizing Church in Haryana

HISAR, Haryana, India—Fanatics owning allegiance to the Hindutva agenda have continued their attacks on minorities residing in India.  In a recent attack, a Hindu mob attacked an under construction church and erected a statue of Hanuman while replacing the Cross.

The incident is currently being investigated and the police have booked 14 fascists on the basis of witnesses.

It is notable that father of the Church, Subash Chand, was out of station when the incident took place. Upon his return, he found the Hanuman statue and some parts of the church vandalized.

He immediately intimated the police and sought arrest of the attackers. Father informed that the attacker’s intention could be understood from their activity of replacing the Cross symbol with the statue of Hanuman. He mentioned that beside this, the attackers also erected a flag of Lord Ram Chandra and left a threatening note addressed to him.

According to the nearby villages, the area is predominantly a Hindu village and there are several temples around where this church is being constructed.  They mentioned that there are no Muslim or Christian families living nearby.
