Political Sikh Prisoners and Assassins of Rajiv Gandhi Can’t be Considered Equal: Advocate Ranjan Lakhanpal

2015-01-11- rajiv gandhiCHANDIGARH, Punjab—The first petition to challenge the court’s decision about mixing up Sikh political prisoners with the assassins of Rajiv Gandhi has been filed in Punjab and Haryana High Court. All the arrangements have also been completed for challenging the decision of Supreme Court about stopping state governments using their constitutional provisions to release the prisoners punished with life imprisonment.

Advocate Ranjan Lakhanpal informed that the petition will be filed in the court today. He said that assassins of Rajiv Gandhi and political prisoners of Punjab can’t be mixed up. He said that the trend of arresting innocent Sikh youth and accusing them in fake cases was at its peak during the militancy period.
