AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib said that organizations should focus on uniting the Sikh community instead of raising those topics which create divisions. He said that some organizations like Dal Khalsa are raising the issue of the Nanakshahi Calendar, which is dividing the Sikh community. He ordered all such self established organizations to stop their activities of dividing the Sikh community. Jathedar said that these organizations are confused in celebrating the Gurpurab with respect to the gait of Sun and Moon. But the Gurpurabs are not dependent on the gait of Moon and Sun. So these organization should stop their activities which have caused divisions as soon as possible.

Jathedar said that on the Nanakshahi Calendar issue, one side is involved in ego and the other side promoting a cult system. It is notable that Sant Samaj was going to meet Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib on 22nd December. Jathedar Giani Gurbachan Singh Ji ordered the Sikh community to celebrate martyrdom anniversary of the Sahibzaade’s with deep grief and not to organize functions of happiness during these days. He also ordered to stop sharing sweets during these days. He asked the Sikh community to recite Gurbani.
