DEHRADUN, India—Gurdwara Hemkunt Sahib Board Chairperson, N.S.Bindra, has asked pilgrims to come by 4-wheelars instead of 2–wheelars. Bindra has notified Sikh24 that roads to shrine are still damaged after the disaster in June of last year.
On May 25th 2014, the first day of re-opening of the shrine, Gyani Jassa Singh Head Granthi of Gurdwara Shri Guru Hemkunt sahib had offered first ardas. Approximately 3,000 Sikh pilgrims visited the shrine on first day, from all parts of the country.
Gurdawara Board has also requested all Sikh Sangat to complete a General Registration at Gurdwara Hemkunt Trust Rishikesh Uttarakhand, for safety reasons.
