Imran Khan Condemns Attacks on Gurdwaras, Sacrilege of Sacred Scripture in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan—Crickter turned politician and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman, Imran Khan, has stated that all those guilty of violating the sanctity of places of worship and of targeting minorities must be arrested and punished.

In a message on Twitter, he tweeted, “I call on all Pakistanis to show respect and tolerance for each other and for all places of worship,” he said while condemning the repeated attacks against Sikh places of worship and Guru Granth Sahib ji. The PTI leader urged his countrymen that all religious places must be respected and protected.

In their protest inside the Parliament House in Islamabad, the protesters had informed media that their Gurdwaras in Karachi, Shikarpur and some other cities of Sindh province had been set on fire. They had asked Minister for Interior Affairs, Chaudhry Nisar Ali, to provide assurances regarding security of their Gurdwaras.
