BRAMPTON, ON, Canada—The Ontario Gurdwaras Committee, an umbrella organization of over 2 dozen Sikh Gurdwaras and Associations, strongly condemns the statement of Bikramjit Majithia where he destroyed the sanctity of Guru Gobind Singh Ji’s beloved gurbani by inserting the name of BJP candidate Arun Jaitley.

The Ontario Gurdwaras Committee has communicated to Akal Takht Jathedar Singh Sahib Gurbachan Singh, that strict action must be taken against Bikramjit Majithia and all others who break the sanctity of our Guru’s messages.  We demand that he be immediately expelled from the Sikh Nation (Khalsa Panth).

We also demand that the police register a case against Bikramjit Majithia according to Indian Penal Code Sections 295(a) for deliberately outraging religious feelings and Section 298 of the Indian Penal Code for uttering words with deliberate intent to wound religious feelings of any person.  We have communicated this to Amritsar Police Commissioner Jatinder Singh Aulakh.

Finally the Ontario Gurdwaras Committee has contacted the Election Commission of India in order to enforce a ban on Bikram Majithia from speaking at any further election related events.

Any Sikh who distorts our Guru Sahibs beloved gurbani should have swift, immediate and strict action taken against them and the Ontario Gurdwaras Committee stands with all organizations who also believe in these values.
