Don’t politicize “blunder” of Majithia, asks Giani Gurbachan Singh

majithiya-jathedarAmritsar Sahib—Acquiring soft view over the blasphemy committed by controversial Akali minister Bikram Majithia, Giani Gurbachan Singh, appointed Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib has made appeal to political parties not to politicize the “blunder” committed by Majithia “unwittingly”.

While speaking to media persons, Giani Gurbachan Singh said, “Majithia distorted Bani of Sri Guru Gobind Singh unmindfully and it should not be converted into political issue. The whole matter will be discussed in the meeting of Panj Singh Sahiban.”

It is notable that Majithia, on past Thursday, committed blasphemy by fitting name of BJP leader Arun Jaitley in Shabad of Sri Guru Gobind Singh that left Sikh sentiments injured deeply. It triggered protests against Majithia from Sikhs across the world. Following which Majithia tendered apology to Sri Akal Takht Sahib in written and submitted it to its Jathedar by hand.

However, this apology could not cool down Sikhs’ fury over this act. Sikh organizations demanded that the punishment for Majithia should be same as that awarded by seventh Guru, Sri Guru Har Rai ji to his own son Ram Rai for distorting Gurbani. He ordered all his Sikhs not to have any engagement with Ram Rai. That order of Guru Sahib is obeyed by Sikhs even today.
