Baljit Singh Khalsa Honoured For Panthik Work During Freedom Fighting Years

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—A delegation of Shiromani Akali Dal (Amritsar) party members, led by it’s General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal on May 19 honored the Sikh writer, S. Baljit Singh Khalsa for his contribution to the Panth.  Baljit Singh is renowned for his incomparable work on state excesses in Punjab during the militancy period. He was offered Siropao (robe of honour), Sri Sahib and a memento by the SADA delegation.

Speaking with Sikh24, SADA’s General Secretary S. Amrik Singh Ballowal on May 20 said that the revolutionary writings of S. Baljit Singh have always inspired the youth towards the Sikh struggle and Sikh sovereignty. He added that S. Baljit Singh has always given a befitting reply to anti-Sikh powers in intellectual fashion.

It is pertinent to note here that S. Navtej Singh Gugu, who had punished the notorious so-called Nihang, Ajit Poohla in 2008, had said in a public meeting that he was apprised of the sins committed by Poohla from the books written by S. Baljit Singh Khalsa and thus decided to take action after law authorities stood by and took no action as he committed an untold number of grievous offenses against innocent Sikhs.

  1. Well deserved honor. It is extremely very rare to find a couple who is engaged in uplifting the lives of countless unfortunate children and at the same time bringing to public information at the expense of putting their own lives in jeopardy.
