CHANDIGARH, Punjab—On October 5, the former SHO (Station House Officer) of the Khanna police station, Baljinder Singh, faced another jolt when the Ludhiana Court rejected his bail plea. Notably, SHO Baljinder Singh had surrendered before the Punjab police after being denied anticipatory bail by the Supreme Court last month and he is in judicial custody currently.
During a strong debate between the prosecution and defense lawyer on Baljinder Singh’s bail plea, Judge Jagdeep Singh agreed with the arguments of the prosecution lawyer and rejected Baljinder Singh’s bail plea.
In June 2019, former SHO Khanna Baljinder Singh had shot a nude video of Jagpal Singh Jogi, his son, and a servant after arresting them in a dispute over land with a Congress leader.
In May this year, Advocate HS Phoolka had written a letter to the Punjab Chief Minister Captain Amarinder Singh demanding registration of a case against the former Khanna SHO Baljinder Singh under POCSO (Protection of Children from Sexual Offences) Act as Jagpal Singh Jogi’s minor son was also stripped in Police station.
Later, an FIR was registered against him in the Khanna police station.
