SGPC establishes new laboratory to provide cheapest coronavirus test facility

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has established the Molecular Diagnostic Library in Sri Guru Ram Dass University of Health Sciences to provide the cheapest coronavirus testing facility to the common masses. This laboratory is certified by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) and the National Accreditation Board for Testing and Calibration Laboratories (NABL).

In this laboratory, Thermo-Fisher’s Reverse Transcription Polymerase Chain Reaction (RT-PCR) machine has been installed to trace for diagnosing the coronavirus in samples collected from patients.

SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal today inaugurated this laboratory at Sri Guru Ram Dass University of Health Sciences. He informed that now the common masses can get their coronavirus test done at INR 3500 in comparison to the rate fixed by the government i.e. INR 4500.
