:dateline:The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee has announced financial aid worth INR 1,00,000 to the families of each Pakistani Sikh pilgrim who lost life in the deadly train-bus accident occurred near Sheikhupura on July 3. The SGPC has also announced financial aid worth INR 50,000 to the Sikhs injured in this accident.
In a press note shared with Sikh24, SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that no financial aid can fulfill the loss of victim families. �We have decided to give this financial help to the victim families just as a token of sympathy,� he added.
He further revealed that the SGPC was going to begin Sri Akhand Path Sahib for the spiritual peace of departed souls of Pakistani Sikhs. �
On July 3, 23 Sikhs had lost lives in a deadly accident between their bus and train near Sheikhupura when they were going to pay obeisance at Gurdwara Sacha Sauda Sahib. Their dead bodies were cremated in the crematoriums situated in Attock (near Peshawar) and Nankana Sahib on July 4.
