Akal Takht seeks clarification from Malaysian Gurdwara Sahib for creating “World’s Largest Saroop”

AMRITSAR SAHIB, Punjab—Taking strong notice of Malaysian Gurdwara’s self-styled move of creating “world’s largest saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji”, the SGPC appointed officiating Akal Takht Jathedar Giani Harpreet Singh has sought written clarification from the management of Gurdwara Persatuan Penganut Agama situated in Puchong (near Kuala lumpur, Malaysia).

It is learnt that Giani Harpreet Singh has sent a written notice to the management of Gurdwara Persatuan Penganut Agama seeking clarification following large number of complaints by the Sikhs.

It is noteworthy here that this newly created saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is in news these days because of its large size. The total weight of this saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji is learnt to be around 700 Kg.

Avtar Singh, the president of Gurdwara Persatuan Penganut Agama, has openly said that they have created such a large saroop of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji to draw large gatherings of sangat at Gurdwara Sahib and encourage youths.

Avtar Singh has also said that if the Akal Takht didn’t have objection over the previously created small sized saroops of Sri Guru Granth Sahib Ji then why they are being targeted.
