Jathedar Daduwal asks SGPC to offer free education to the children of those serving Sikh religion

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Reacting to the SGPC’s announcement of facilitating free education to the children of those battling at the forefront against Covid-19 pandemic, Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal has said that the SGPC should also announce free education for the children of Granthi Singhs, Raagi Singhs, Dhadis, Sewadars and Preachers of Sikh community. He has said that the SGPC’s budget is more than 10 billion so offering education to the children of those serving religion was not a big job.

Baba Baljit Singh Daduwal was appointed as Jathedar of Takht Sri Damdama Sahib by the Sarbat Khalsa held in November-2015 at village Chabba.

It may be recalled here that the SGPC had announced to provide free Paramedical courses at Sri Guru Ram Das University of Health Sciences (Amritsar) to the children of health staff, media, police and related to other services who are doing the services at the forefront during Covid-19 pandemic.

“No fee will be taken for the entire course during the year 2020-2021 from the children of these personnel who will be enrolled in the paramedical courses running at Sri Guru Ramdas Medical University.  The Para-medical courses, which will be provided free of cost by the SGPC are Nursing, Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Anaesthesia Technology, Medical Laboratory Technology, Operation Theater Technology, Cath Lab Technology, Physiotherapy, Optometry, Radiology and Imaging Technology etc,” SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal had said.
