Maharashtra government in action to send back Punjab based pilgrims stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Union Minister Harsimrat Kaur Badal has disclosed that the Maharashtra state government has begun preparations for sending back the Punjab based pilgrims stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib on being asked by the Union Home Ministry. Notably, around 2500 pilgrims had stuck at Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib after imposition of countrywide lockdown in India due to coronavirus outbreak.

Earlier, Harsimrat Kaur Badal had shot a letter to the Indian PM Narendra Modi seeking safe return of these pilgrims from Takht Sri Hazoor Sahib.

Around 90 of these pilgrims had tried to come back by road in trailers, but all of them were stopped by the Madhya Pradesh government on the outskirts of Indore.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal further informed that she has talked to Maharashtra’s chief secretary and he has informed that instructions have been issued in this regard. “I hope that all these pilgrims will receive permission letters today,” she added.

Pleased to share that the ‘sangat’ stranded in Takht Sri #HazurSahib, Nanded, will return home soon. I have spoken to Maharashtra Chief Secretary and he has told me that directions have been issued in this regard. I am grateful to the combined efforts of governments who acceded to the plea of the stranded devotees.#IndiaFightsCorona #FightAgainstCorona #COVID19 #Sikhs

  1. Dhan Vahiguroo, why badal buses cannot pick pilgrims from beginning of lockdown to transport polgrims vack to Punjab ji?
Why have to obtain permission letters, when all citizens of india? india could have planned lockdown with first transporting pilgrims, migrants, et al, then lockdown?
Also, police corruption to keep food for public causing starvation to some villagers, and uneccessary brutality by police caused nihungs to react same, so nihungs, who reacted same, should be released with warning to seek legal action vs risk life with corrupt police.
