LUDHIANA, Punjab—Simply for asking to probe why Nihangs turned violent in Patiala’s attack on cops, LIP legislator Simarjeet Singh Bains has faced a tough reaction from the Punjab police. Four gunmen deployed in his conventional security have been withdrawn by the Ludhiana police.
Notably, Bains had reacted to the attack on Patiala’s cops by saying that the reason behind incident needs to be probed. He had said that the force needed to introspect why the “Nihangs were forced to take out weapons.”
On the other hand, Ludhiana’s Police Commissioner Rakesh Aggarwal has said that all the four gunmen deployed in the security of MLA Simarjeet Singh Bains took his comment as an insult to the Punjab police and they volunteered their withdrawal from the security of Bains.
