Punjab government extends curfew till April 30

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Keeping in view the rising cases of coronavirus, the Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh has extended curfew in Punjab till April 30. The decision came following a meeting of Punjab Cabinet via video conference. 

It is noteworthy here that the count of coronavirus positive cases has rapidly grown up during the past few days. About 140 positive cases of coronavirus have been reported till date in Punjab and 11 of these have died while only 18 have recovered. 

The Punjab government has also decided to promote the students of class V and VIII.

A significant study by PGI Chandigarh has projected the COVID-19 pandemic’s peak in India by mid-September while making a prediction that 58% of India’s population could get infected by it. The same study also estimates that this virus can infect 87% of Punjab population.
