SGPC condemns devastation of Sikhs farmers in Madhya Pradesh; Constitutes three member sub-committee

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The apex Sikh body Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhik Committee has strongly condemned the devastation of 9 houses and 200 acres of wheat of Sikhs in Patari, Gothra, Panwada and Lehroni villages of Tehsil Karhal (District Sheopur, Madhya Pradesh). The SGPC has also expressed solidarity with the victim Sikh farmers and has promised of assisting Sikhs in getting justice.

SGPC president Gobind Singh Longowal has said that the SGPC will approach Union Home Minister Amit Shah to get justice. “We have constituted a three member sub-committee comprising of SGPC’s executive member Indermohan Singh Lakhmir Wala, SGPC member Bhai Gurcharan Singh Grewal and Vice Secretary Tejinder Singh Padda, which is gathering information from sources and will soon depart for Madhya Pradesh,” he informed.

Longowal further said that the anti-Sikhism face of Madhya Pradesh CM Kamal Nath has once again got exposed with the devastation of Sikh farmers who were living there for more than three decades.

It is pertinent to note here that Congress leader Kamal Nath was a key perpetrator of the 1984 Sikh genocide, but he is still at large due to anti-Sikhism attitude of Indian machinery.

“The responsibility to ensure security of minorities also lies with state governments beside the Union government, but the Madhya Pradesh government has depicted dereliction in serving on its duty,” he said while asking the Indian government to take strong action against Madhya Pradesh government and deliver justice to the victim Sikhs.
