Harsimrat Badal Asks Captain Amarinder Singh to Quit CM Post

CHANDIGARH,Punjab—As the four members of the Special Investigation Team including its head ADGP Prabodh Kumar have separated themselves from the chargesheet filed in Kotkapura firing case on May 28, the Akali parliamentarian Harsimrat Kaur Badal has asked Captain Amarinder Singh to quit the chief ministry of Punjab. She has said that now Captain should consider it his moral responsibility to quit the CM post as the politicization of the SIT has got exposed.

Harsimrat Kaur Badal further said that the chargesheet seems to have been prepared at Congress Bhawan like the investigation report of Justice Ranjit Singh Commission.

She also accused the Congress led Punjab government of not cooperating in implementing the public welfare schemes of the Union government of India. “The Punjab government is also not releasing the funds for providing medical insurance cards to the common masses, implementing pension schemes for the laborers and providing house subsidy to the homeless people,” she added.

It may be recalled here that the other four SIT members including its head ADGP Prabodh Kumar had separated themselves from the chargesheet filed on May 28 and had stated that IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh neither taken them into confidence before filing this chargesheet nor they were shown the chargesheet.

It had also come to fore that the chargesheet didn’t have signatures of any of the other four SIT members, namely ADGP Prabodh Kumar, IG Arunpal Singh, SSP (Kapurthala) Satinder Singh and SP Bhupinder Singh. IG Kunwar Vijay Partap Singh had also got the witnesses testified from six other DSP rank police officials who are working in the Organized Crime Control Unit i.e. from where the IG was transferred by the Election Commission.
