Indian side of Kartarpur corridor likely to get delayed onto next year

CHANDIGARH, Punjab—The Sikh devotees may not be able to visit Gurdwara Kartarpur Sahib during the 550th birthday celebrations due for November this year as the construction of Kartarpur corridor on Indian side might get delayed to next year. It is learnt that the acquisition of land for this corridor is consuming more than expected time due to which the Indian government is not able to start the construction work.

Sharing the development with media, the Punjab cabinet minister for Public Works Mr. Vijay Inder Singla informed that the construction work of Kartarpur corridor will start after completion of land acquisition.

It is noteworthy here that the construction work of Kartarpur corridor on Pakistani side will get completed by August 31. More than 70% construction work has been already completed by the Pakistan government.
