CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Ex-SSP Charanjit Sharma has accused the Special Investigation Team of not enclosing some significant evidences along with the chargesheet filed against him. Notably, the SIT had filed chargesheet against Sharma last month.
In a written plea submitted to the Court via his legal counsel, Ex-SSP Charanjit Sharma has claimed that the submission of significant evidences along with the chargesheet was mandatory but the SIT didn’t do so.
Charanjit Sharma has requested the Court to provide him the copies of evidences concealed by the SIT. Judicial Magistrate Chetan Sharma has issued a notice to the Special Investigation Team in this regard.
On being approached by the media, the public prosecutor Satnam Singh Gill has said that he will present the side of the Special Investigation Team in Court during the next hearing.
