CHANDIGARH, Punjab—Addressing an election rally in favor of SAD-BJP candidate Charanjit Singh Atwal in Jalandhar, the former Punjab CM Parkash Badal today compared the Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi with the renowned US president Abraham Lincoln.
“I have seen two leaders rising so high. One was Abraham Lincoln and now the second one is Narendra Modi, who once used to sell tea and now he is serving as the Prime Minister of India,” he said while addressing the rally.
It is noteworthy here that Abraham Lincoln (February 12, 1809-15 April 1865) was the 16th President of the United States and served on this highest constitutional post from March 1861 to April 1865 i.e. till his murder. Lincoln led the United States during its civil war and the largest moral, constitutional and political crisis. Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809 in a single room house in Hardin County of Kentucky.
